Dear Visitor,

January/February 2007

Home on Furlough

Praise the Lord for His Goodness toward us. We traveled up through Mexico with no major problems. That is a feat in itself for us with our five kiddos. The three day trek in our van was definitely fun and full of adventure. We ran out of pesos on one of the highway toll roads, and ended up trading one of our Spanish singing cds to allow us pay the toll booth so we could change some dollars for the much needed pesos. May the LORD use the sung word of God to draw even more to Himself.

The Work Continues On!

We called Guatemala to see how things are going in the Church in Cantel and with our co-laborers on the field. Pastor Thomas said that the attendance has increased 20%, to about 115 in both services on the Lord's Day. My bus workers dad, who I had been working with, has trust Christ as his Saviour and now the whole family is in church together! Praise GOD! The church marked its anniversary with two days of celebration around the Preaching of God's Word. We look forward to see even greater things in this local churches life and ministry in the future.

Texas

This month has been full of meetings in Texas. We have been in churches from Aransas Pass to Arlington and from Gainsville to Grand Prairie. We rejoice with our fellow brethern in God's blessings in their churches and the work done in Guatemala. February is full of meetings in Texas still as well as meetings in Mississippi. We have still to contact some of you, our supporting churches. If you would like to have us in your church our email address remains coates@minister.com.

We have a BIG God

Praise God for His rich blessings upon us! God has provided us with a new van for the ministry in Guatemala. Our family has grown to seven souls, so with the need of a new vehicle before us, we were praying that God would lead us to the vehicle he had for us. We did not put this need in our prayer letters but were simply praying and asking Him to provide. We know that He often provides through His people...and this time he used the Victory Baptist Church in Burnet, Texas. We were with them to report on the work of our first term. They were so gracious to us, and after asking if they could do anything more for us, I finally mentioned the need of a new vehicle. I told them about a van I had run across in the DFW Metroplex. I explained to Pastor Bo Hart that the van was a 1995 GMC 15 passenger in very good shape and had just over 43,000 miles. He said he would pray about it and that "we have a BIG God". Well, that was on Wednesday the 31stof January. Pastor Hart called me the next Friday and said that his church had had their prayer meeting and was letting me know that they were going to send us a check to but that van. Well, the dealer even came down on the price, added the TT&L and there was still enough left to insure it for the next six months. So we drove off with our van, paid for and insured! Praise the Lord! A special thank you to the Victory Baptist Church for their kindness. God bless you!

I must needs go through Mississippi

The Lord worked it out for us to go to Jackson, MS, for a mission conference. The pastor had in a great guest speaker, and we were able to get acquainted with their church family as well as some new fellow missionaries. We went soul-winning that Saturday and were able to sow some seed. For me, the highlight of our whole trip was in the Kroger Store late one night in the dairy section, where I met one of the workers and was able to lead him to Christ. He knew where the church was meeting and said that he would come, inviting his sister to come with him. Amen!

Thank you for your faithful support,

Daniel, Tammy, Jessica, Jillian, Joseph, and Johanna
