“I Rode My Bike in from Fort Defiance”
These words really surprised me! Fort Defiance is over 40 miles from Ganado and it was around ten degrees that morning. Kyle had been visiting our church a bit. He had always been very respectful and listened well in the services. He rode up on his bike fairly early one Sunday morning as I was chopping wood and getting the stove in the fellowship hall stoked and ready for the morning services. His mother had called Bro. Don Leaf, the special speaker for our Missions Conference, and told him that Kyle had wept during one of the services and told her that what he heard preached was what their family needed. On one recent Sunday morning, he raised his hand that he needed salvation. That Sunday night, our son, Joel, preached. When the invitation was given, Kyle came down the aisle immediately and put his trust in the finished work of Christ! We baptized Kyle on the first Sunday of 2008! Pray for his mom and dad. Kyle’s dad may not be saved and there are challenges in the home. I am praying the Lord will allow me to win him to Christ or confirm his salvation.
Can I talk With you?
She is thirteen and had been coming to the church off and on. I called Tricia over and she told us how her uncle had molested her. Her parents wanted her to keep quiet, but the authorities are trying to prosecute him. Amazingly, her parents still allow this relative to come to their house. This young teen came to ask us to pray for her, but her real need was to trust Christ as her Savior. Tricia told her the old, old story and now she has Heaven as her home. Pray for this young lady, as there are obvious challenges for her to overcome.
He wanted a New Daddy!
Tyler Bia is in his mid 30’s and lives with his wife and son at one of our church member’s home. Larcy, our church member, came to me before the service and told me he was not saved. I preached about Mephibosheth and how David became his new daddy. Tyler, a big man, came to the altar in tears, wanting to have Jesus as his Daddy! Pray for him and his family. His wife is very traditional, but came to visit the very next Wednesday night. Pray for her to be saved.
Bible Institue Classes going well
There are 12 students for this new semester of Bible institute and 17 for the Prophecy elective. Many of those in the prophecy class are returning students, but we have around three or four new folks.
Caleb and Sarah’s Wedding
Our second oldest son, Caleb, married Sarah Garner in a beautiful wedding on December 21st at Trinity Baptist in Arlington. I had the privilege of assisting Bro. Bob Smith with the ceremony. The newlyweds are living in Haltom City and serving the Lord faithfully at Trinity.
Got a spare engine you don’t need?
When I took our 2002 Ford Focus to the shop, they said I needed a timing belt kit. That sounded alright! They then called and said I needed an engine to go along with it! Appreciate your prayer on this. The motor had almost 250,000 miles on it, so we got good service from it. The car gets good gas mileage, so we are trying to get another motor. If you have a spare one (HA) or would like to help us financially, just designate your gift for the Focus engine. Our 98 Dodge van also blew its second transmission, so I am seriously considering horse riding lessons! We love you folks and appreciate your standing with us!
